Weddings are supposed to be fun, romantic and exciting. It is a day to watch two people who love each other commit to one another for the rest of their lives. While a wedding can still be all of these things, to a bride it can also be chaotic and stressful.
I was not overly stressed at my own wedding, but I far too concerned with the little details going on around me. The day that you have planned for months or years goes by in a flash. I wish I would have left the details for other to handle so I could have truly enjoyed the entire day. After all, you only get to the day once!
Eventful 203 got together to provide our beautiful brides with some tips on how to stay calm and enjoy the wedding festivities.
1) Hire professionals
We do not mean that you have to have a wedding planner for the day, but if you are able to, it would alleviate a lot of topics on your mind. We are referring to your hair and makeup. Let someone pamper you on your big day. You do not want to be worried about if your hairstyle did not end up the way that you had hoped. Leave that to the professionals that will make sure your hair and face look flawless the entire day!
Three words: plan your pictures! Plan out as many photo shoots as you can. Make sure you schedule more time than you anticipate to get your pictures with all of your loved ones. That is one of my main regrets. I did not plan enough time for pictures and missed out on some great shots. So plan to get your hair and makeup done a couple hours earlier so that you can get as many picture done before the ceremony as possible. Research different shots and poses that you want your photographer to do. Make a list and bring it with you so that the picture time will be efficient.
3) Prepare, prepare, prepare
Make sure to have all of your bags packed and put together prior to your wedding day. Make a list of everything you could possibly need and go down the list one by one. Take everything out of your shopping bags and into one single tote to keep organized.
Make sure to pack some snacks and water in your bag for your big day. Stress added with an empty stomach is not a good combination. Make sure to drink lots of water to keep your skin glowing!
5) Have a Drink
Pop some champagne and have a mimosa! It is a day to celebrate, why not calm your nerves with a little bubbly?
You will be surrounded by people that love on your wedding day. Make sure to delegate out anything that you need done to them. They will be happy to help out!
7) Talk to your Fiancé
If you are completely stressing out, give your one and only a call. Talking to him will calm your nerves and help you remember what the day is all about. Exchanging some sweet words will have you filled with loving butterflies.
Say a prayer in private or with your loved ones. Thank God for the wonderful blessing that has been placed in your life.
Enjoy yourself and have fun! The day will fly by much faster than you expected. Enjoy every single moment of it!
